The Hahndorf Black Under 8s team took on the Strathalbyn Strikers early on a very windy and cold Saturday morning at Strathalbyn Polo and Recreation Park.

Once again a full team on board so 3 subs sat out for 10 minute play time through the duration of the game so everyone had a share of play. Levi Roberts sent an impressive assist to William Moran to score Hahndorf’s first goal. Asa Bartsch as goal keeper in the first half had some great saves when there were attempts on goals from the Strikers. Axel Pym went on to score another two goals for Hahndorf rounding out a well played first half by both teams.

After an orange and drink break, a change of subs and positions, Ryan Glynn stepped up as goalie for the second half. Hahndorf’s defence of Hamish Holmes and Levi Roberts was extremely strong on the day impressing Coach Belinda and the spectators. Within the first minute of the second half, Asa Bartsch scored a fantastic goal. Finn Bond as wing in the second half had some great control of the ball, as well as Maisie Haynes, having the most touches of any game so far. Almost at the end of the season now and the teams had a great game, playing on a larger pitch and showing good sportsmanship.
