Despite the older and bigger Stirling side, Strathalbyn set up as always to play attacking football from the off. Not afraid to take the attack to the opposition the young Strathalbyn team continued to play their football under the constant barrage of long ball tactics from the opposition. Strathalbyns central defenders held their own in the first half and the midfield and attack continued to take on the Stirling defence. Stirlings use of the long ball and height advantage made it difficult to defend the counter attack. Stirling won out scoring 8 but Strathalbyns 3 goals all came from playing good football. An indifferent day but all coaches and players happy with the morning out.
The Strathalbyn striker took a big blow to the head and came off the field. The Strathalbyn player, team and coaches would like to thank the Stirling player involved for checking in with the striker after the game. It was a big thing to do for young players and a very good sporting moment.
