Match report

Hahndorf under 10 girls had their first home game of the season. Stirling applied pressure early pushing the ball forward, but it was met with strong defensive skills from both Violet Palmer and Charlotte Rymer. After a couple of near misses from both Scout Ramsey and Amelie Rymer; A Rymer managed to score the first goal of the match. Stirling scored their first goal midway through the first half. Willow Duggan showed determination with some confident goalkeeping and stopped Stirling from scoring again until late in the first half.

The Hahndorf girls kept the pressure on Stirling with some terrific passing throughout the centre. Ramsey made some good attacks up forward. Summer Woods and Ramsey both had some close attempts at goal. While in the backline C Rymer made some useful long passes back into the midfield. Good footwork was demonstrated by A Rymer.

The girls were trailing by one in the second half. A Rymer almost kicked a goal at the start of second half making for some exciting play; followed by another two close attempts. Palmer and Alana Haydon played mid field and had great communication with each other. Woods showed off her defensive skills and worked well with Duggan in the backline. With Ramsey’s goalkeeping stopping Stirling from scoring in the second half.

There was a lot of action in the midfield with some good inceptions from Palmer. Duggan and Woods continued to apply pressure. Woods made a superb kick from defence and Haydon showed some thoughtful positioning with a close call for goal. A Rymer made a great clearance pass to C Rymer and then at the 9 minute mark C Rymer scored Hahndorf’s second goal.

The game ended in a draw with smiles on both sides. Well done girls!
