Hahndorf Under 13s took to the field at Mt Barker Summit this week to play against Mt Barker Red.
Mt Barker had an early shot on goals which keeper Jackson Bidgood defended well. Mt Barker had a strong opening half and Bidgood, Jack Gaskin and Oliver Ramsey worked the defence line together very effectively.
In the offence Tom Gould, Louis Moran and Sam Griffiths took many leads, with Eli Parkin consistently bringing the ball through the midfield. Gould played a very strong game, taking part in several set ups for goal with Cohen Whinfield, Noah Duggan and Harry Wood before ultimately intercepting a goal kick and turning it into the first score of the game. In short order Gould had put a second point on the board landing another shot into the net.
The second half opened 2-0, with Caleb Early and Duggan playing strong in defence. Gould scored his third goal for Hahndorf half way through the second half. In the latter part of the game Mt Barker came through and scored two goals. The final score 3-2; a strong game from both teams.
