Woodside were playing they're second home game of the season and the boys were keen to get another three points coming into the last few games. It was Woodside vs Murray Bridge and both teams were looking to sort out some unfinished buisness. The last time they met it finished in a 4-4 draw where both teams deserved the win. The first 10 minutes were intense but had a good atmosphere as both teams looked to get on the ball early. Woodside started with 10 but managed to hang on and not concede before adding an eleventh player. Both teams were attacking and making good opportunities. Each keeper was tested early and seemed to be in good form and on their toes. Woodside had an early corner and Jack Herrmann, Woodside's tall Centre back decided to go up. The ball was perfectly looped in toward the back post and caught the Murray Bridge players out leaving Jack to header it in at the back post. It was a well deserved lead but as the last time these teams met showed, it's never over. Murray Bridge fought well to put pressure on Woodside's backline with a few good runs. There was a good free kick taken but Woodside's keeper keptĀ Murray Bridge scoreless while down the other end Braedyn was able to make a beautiful run on the ball from a through ball and slot it past the keeper to take a 2-0 lead going into the half time break. Murray Bridge came out playing strongly in the second half and scored a goal after building the pressure and a nice corner kick. They had momentum and looked like they had Woodside on the back foot. Woodside were barely holding on and looked to be getting tired with only 11 players. It was an intense final 20 minutes to the game. But Woodside found a way to continue making offensive attacks. Braedyn yet again had the ball out on the wing and managed to run in on the keeper. He took a shot at the near post and and it clipped the edge and went in to take a 3-1 lead in last moments of the game. Woodside walked away 3-1 winners but both teams played with class and a good competitive nature. Only a few games left and it's looking to be a good finish to the 2019 season.
